Hi, I’m Anna!

Let me give you a quick introduction, just to share a bit about how I approach English tutoring. I’ll keep it to the point, so you can get a feel for who I am and decide if I’m the right fit to guide you on your English learning journey.

My love for English started when I was a child. One day, my uncle gave me two colourful books from the USA. The books were very well made, full of bright pictures of cats living in beautiful American homes. Next to each picture, there was an English word — for example, the names of the food the kittens were eating, the rooms in their house, or their jobs, like a cat doctor or a cat firefighter.

That’s when I understood something important: it’s much easier to remember English words when you see a picture and the English word together. It works better than learning the words in your own language because it helps you start thinking in English more quickly.

Years later, I earned my degree in Linguistics and started teaching English to others. I quickly realised that every student brings their own story, dreams, and challenges, which makes teaching not just a job, but a chance to connect, inspire, and grow together.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve helped people find their voices in English. Some of my students were learning English to build a career, some to feel more confident while traveling, and a few even ended up finding love. Everyone has their own story, and I believe language should be a bridge, not a barrier.

In all these years of teaching, I’ve learned that English comes alive when it’s used — really used. That’s why my lessons are always filled with real conversations and practical situations: we don’t just study rules, we speak, listen, laugh, sometimes even debate, and try out new words in different contexts right away. I love when the lesson energy is high, and my students do too. Many of them tell me that the lively, intensive pace makes them feel truly engaged and helps them progress faster than they expected.

I also believe in the power of regular practice, so I do give plenty of homework: new vocabulary to try, exercises to help you remember what we’ve covered, and little challenges that keep things interesting between lessons. Most students enjoy this rhythm, but I understand that life can get hectic. For those who are busy with work or family, I’m always ready to adapt: if you’re short on time for homework, we simply make our lesson time work harder for you. But if you’re ready for more, I’ll happily keep you challenged!

Over the years, I’ve worked with both teenagers and adults. I always teach in English from day one, but I promise, you won’t feel lost. I’ve developed ways to explain things simply and make sure every student feels at ease. Many are surprised how quickly they start thinking in English! That immersive feeling is what truly builds confidence.

When it comes to materials, I love variety. Headway textbooks are my foundation, but I usually add extra activities, articles, and resources that fit your goals and interests. Our lessons take place online via Google Meet, so you can join from anywhere and always count on a friendly, supportive atmosphere where you’re encouraged, challenged, and able to see your progress week by week.

If you want your English journey to be practical, personal, and inspiring, I’d love to help you open new doors and discover what English can do for your life.
